BIBC Juniors vs Poole juniors return match on 17th February.  It should be a good day, all welcome.

The 2023 Juniors Christmas party was preceded by a bowls match between the juniors and  parents; the juniors won!  They all went off to Crazy Climb where a great time was had by all.

We can happily say that the first national under 16’s Aussie Pairs tournament held at the club on Saturday 9th December was a great success, lots of positive feedback received, both spectators and juniors enjoyed the day.

Sixteen pairs were registered to play but sadly one pair had to drop out due to sickness and the others just didn’t turn up! All the juniors played well and their clubs should be extremely proud of them.

All matches comprised of 7 ends and round robins were played to the end.

Over the weekend Bristol juniors won and the trophy returned home; a great weekend enjoyed by players and spectators alike.   Looking forward to return game on 17 February 2024 at BIBC club!

At the beginning of the outdoor season four of our junior boys joined Knowle outdoor bowls club Stanley James, Marshall Simpson, Quinn Trent and his brother Oakley. Within a month of joining the club Oakley won a singles competition as shown in picture below. Last week Oakley played a single club competition and beat a team player 21-13…brilliant …as the marker for the game said “this should have been a whitewash against a junior! “ It was also commented that he could become a formidable player.!! Well done Oakley, the coaches at BIBC are very proud of you!!

With the World Bowls event taking part in April 2022 some of our junior members who attended were lucky enough to be given shirts by overseas competitors.

6/7th April Festival of Youth Bowls 2019
County Antrim Indoor Stadium
To the Coaches of BIBC Juniors
Following our Successful Festival of Youth Bowls in Antrim over the weekend of 6th/7th April, I would like to congratulate the officials and players from Bristol who helped make the event a wonderful occasion.
It was your clubs/ groups first involvement in a competitive series of this nature and from an organisers viewpoint they were a joy to work with.
The fact that it was all new, even to the officials, must have been a challenge in its self, however, the way the players conducted themselves on and off the green was something your club should be proud of.
Players from Bristol gave an excellent account of themselves considering the experience of the Scotland and Irish contingent and the competitive nature of the Channel Isles.

David Ferguson (Scottish Young Indoor Bowlers)

Unfortunately the Festival of Bowls was cancelled  in 2020” and sadly due to lack of available seats for the return flights our juniors are unable to attend this year…. So fingers crossed for 2023
